Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Redtie ("Redtie," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Redtie products, including Redtie Phone — a desktop calling app with a real US phone number, live captions, and an AI receptionist. Redtie is a product operated by SocialNetGate.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, Microsoft 365, or an email magic-link, we receive your name and email address to create and secure your account.
- Your phone number. The US phone number(s) provisioned to your account, and their configuration (such as your receptionist settings).
- Call information. Call metadata (the numbers involved, timestamps, and duration) and, to provide the service, the audio of your calls — which is processed in real time to generate live captions and to power the AI receptionist. This includes transcripts of calls and any messages the receptionist takes for you.
- Call recordings. If call recording is enabled on your account, we store recordings of the applicable calls. Recording is controlled by the account owner and can be turned off in Settings (see "Call recording," below).
- Contacts. If you choose to sync contacts, we import contact details from your Google and/or Microsoft account, with your authorization, so they appear in the app.
- Billing information. Subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We receive limited billing details (such as your plan and payment status); we do not store full card numbers.
- Device and usage data. Standard technical information such as app version, device/OS, IP address, and diagnostic logs, used for security and reliability.
Information about callers
When someone calls your Redtie number, we process information about that call — including the caller's number, the audio, captions, and any message left — so we can provide the service to you. If you are a Redtie user, you are responsible for handling that information appropriately and for any notice or consent required in your and your callers' locations (see "Call recording").
How we use information
- To provide and operate the service — connecting calls, generating live captions, running the AI receptionist, taking messages, and syncing your contacts.
- To process billing and manage your subscription.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
- To communicate with you about your account and the service.
- To improve our products. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your calls to build advertising profiles.
Call recording
AI and transcription processing
To deliver live captions and the AI receptionist, call audio and text are processed by trusted third-party AI and speech-to-text providers acting on our behalf. This processing happens to provide the feature you have enabled; providers are bound to use the data only to provide services to Redtie.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the service:
- Service providers — for example, telephony (to place and receive calls), speech-to-text (for captions), AI processing (for the receptionist), cloud hosting and storage, and payments (Stripe). They may process information only to provide services to us.
- Identity and contacts providers — Google and Microsoft, when you sign in or sync contacts, under their respective terms.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Redtie, our users, or others.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for a reasonable period afterward as required for legal, security, and business purposes. You can delete recordings and other data where the app provides controls, or ask us to help.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to limit access to it.
Your choices and rights
You can update your receptionist and recording settings in the app, disconnect contacts sync, and cancel your subscription at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information. To make a request, email us at hello@getredtie.com.
Children
Redtie is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
